Miller was the son of Levi and Deborah Miller. He was an Elder at Salem. He married (1) Catharine c. 1823 and (2) Susanna Knight in 1827.
When he died, Miller left a legacy to Ohio Yearly Meeting to be distributed to assist in the education of young Friends. The Committee on the Robert Miller Legacy reported annually to the yearly meeting and then was incorporated into the Fiduciary Trustees funds in the 1920s.
