Head of Wheeling Meeting was located near Claysville in Washington County, Pa. Friends here requested a MW at Westland MM on 11/24/1798, and though committees visited back and forth, the MW was not granted until 5/24/1800. A meeting house was built here soon thereafter. Marriages were held here from 1805 to 1828. When the meeting was laid down in 1829, it had been lapsed for some time. |
