Joseph H. Miller was the son of Solomon and Ruth Miller, who do not appear to have been members though they lived near the Westland Meeting House. Miller was a medical doctor. At the time of the U.S. Census of 1850, he was living with his in-laws (the Kenworthy family). He married (2) Rebecca Garwood in 1857. The Millers moved to Springborough MM in western Ohio in 1865.
