Benjamin Hoyle was a leading minister in Ohio YM who was the longest serving Clerk of the YM. He served during the 1854 division, and for some time afterwards the Wilburite YM was sometimes called the Hoyle YM.
 
Hoyle was the son of John and Sarah Hoyle. He was born in northern England; the family moved to Ohio in 1816.
