Jane M. Plummer served the longest term as Clerk of the Ohio women's YM and the second longest term as Clerk of Ohio YM. The only person to serve more years as YM Clerk was Benjamin Hoyle, who was the men's Clerk while Plummer was the women's Clerk. She moved to Indiana following her service as YM Clerk. The original Ohio YM women's minute book is lost, and it appears that Plummer was the last person known to have had it in her possession. She was an early advocate of the doctrines of J.J. Gurney and wrote several minutes over the objections of the majority of the women's YM in support of the Gurney body in New England.

The Plummers moved to Plainfield, Indiana, in 1862. They were never removed from membership at Short Creek.
