Parker Askew was a well-known Orthodox Friend in Belmont County. He worked as a tanner and lived in a brick house at the west end of St. Clairsville. After he moved to Iowa, Henry Piper rented his house and offered it for sale in the Belmont Chronicle on 2/4/1869. The same newspaper reported on 10/17/1869 on his death seven days earlier.
